The Triangle's First Authentic Korean Head Spa

헤드스파

Head Spa

An authentic Korean scalp and hair ritual, on equipment imported directly from Seoul. Deep cleansing, unhurried massage, and quiet — in a private room built for it.

The Experience

What Is a Head Spa?

The head spa is a Korean tradition: an unhurried, multi-step scalp and hair ritual that has little in common with a salon shampoo. Ours follows that method, performed by licensed technicians on equipment imported directly from Seoul.

Each session moves through cleansing, a long scalp and pressure-point massage, a rinse beneath our fountain, and work across the neck and shoulders. Most guests find it the most relaxing thing they do all month. Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes, in a private room.

The Room

Our head spa is a room of its own — multiple beds, its own door, and the Korean units we brought in from Seoul. It was built to be quiet, and the team works hard to keep it that way.

For guests undergoing cancer treatment

Please speak with your oncologist first

Cancer treatment can place an enormous burden on the body, mind, and spirit. Cancer has touched members of our team and our immediate families, and while every person's experience is different, we understand how deeply it can affect everyday life.

We offer a gentle, therapeutic spa service intended to provide comfort, calm, and a welcome sense of normalcy. Our hope is to give you a place where you can set some of that weight down, breathe, and feel cared for as a person rather than defined by what you are going through. We will thoughtfully adapt your visit to meet your needs with privacy, patience, and genuine care.

Chemotherapy can leave the scalp and skin tender and unusually sensitive. Treatment-related hair loss, known as anagen effluvium, may also make ordinary products and pressure uncomfortable. We have consulted medical professionals about how to thoughtfully adapt our service for clients who are undergoing or recovering from treatment.

Because every person's health and treatment plan is different, we encourage you to speak with your oncology team before scheduling. Some newer treatments, including targeted therapies and immunotherapies, can cause significant or prolonged skin sensitivity, so your oncology team is best positioned to advise you.

"This was our second visit to Therapy Nail Spa in Cary for their head therapy service, and it exceeded expectations once again. My kids truly enjoyed the experience. The team is attentive, skilled, and very kind. The spa itself is clean, relaxing, and beautifully maintained. Excellent service at a great value—highly recommend!"

Questions

Head Spa FAQ

Is a head spa different from a regular salon wash?
Yes. A regular shampoo takes 3–5 minutes. Our head spa is a dedicated 30–60 minute therapeutic session focused on the scalp — deep cleansing, pressure-point massage, and neck and shoulder work. It's a wellness experience, not a wash step.
Do I need any special preparation before my visit?
No special preparation needed. You may come with dirty hair — the treatment includes cleansing and shampooing. Wear a top that opens at the neck if possible, as the neck and shoulder work is part of the session.
Can I combine a head spa with a nail service?
Absolutely — and many clients do. A Head Spa + Manicure is one of our most popular combo visits. Just mention it when you book so we can schedule your session time accordingly.
Who performs the head spa treatments?
All head spa sessions are performed by our licensed and trained technicians who specialize in scalp wellness. Head Spa is their dedicated focus — not an add-on to a general nail menu.
How often should I do a head spa?
As often as you like — most guests come once a month, and some make it a fortnightly ritual. It is a relaxation service, so there is no schedule you need to keep to. Come when you want the hour.
Can I book a head spa during chemotherapy or other cancer treatment?
Yes, with your oncologist's approval — please speak with them first. Anagen effluvium (chemotherapy-related hair loss) often leaves the scalp tender, and the skin stays more reactive while you are recovering from the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy. An oncology nurse has walked us through how to adapt a session: the gentlest pressure, organic unscented cleansing gels, a shorter visit if you prefer, and the room entirely to yourself. It is a calming spa service rather than a medical one.
